AI Socratic Tutoring
Background information
AI Socratic Tutors are digital companions that nurture student understanding through guided exploration, posing thought-provoking questions instead of dispensing straightforward answers, and are rooted in retrieval from academic resources. These agents are intended to operate under continuous instructor supervision.
Aim of the project
Building on the momentum generated by TU/e’s AI Strategic Framework for Engineering Education, there is a clear need for a more unified, institution-wide strategy to expand AI Socratic tutoring throughout TU/e. The DRIVE Route 2 AI team has assembled a thorough inventory of such initiatives and assessed potential strategies for institutional adoption. This project seeks to execute the recommended strategy identified in that inventory. The primary goal is to significantly broaden the impact and accessibility of AI Socratic tutoring pilots over the next three years.
Results and learnings
The pilot of the project has just started and results and learnings resume to those mentioned in the referred inventory. Further results will be added when they are available.
